Mark Danger Chen (PhD Education, University of Washington; BA Fine Art, Reed College) is a Teaching Assistant Professor in Media, Technology, and Learning Design at Appalachian State University. He is primarily a games scholar with extensive experience in a broad range of fields: game and interaction design for education, media and internet studies, instructional and web design, qualitative user research, project management, academic editing, and grant writing. Mark wrote Leet Noobs: The Life and Death of an Expert Player Group in World of Warcraft, an ethnographic account of team expertise and how it is socially and contextually defined. In a previous life, Mark was the webmaster and game designer for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Mark wants you to watch Everything Everywhere All at Once and Godzilla Minus One.
